I'm also the Maintainer of the Ogre MinGW build ;-), and in former times we used it for our Iris2 builds.

But:
-using MinGW you will also need directx because it has nothing todo with each other
-using MinGW produces slower binarys as with VS2005

-to run Iris2 you only have to update your DirectX to the newest available runtime

no problem at all.

We also noted this req. on our Mainpage at the download section.

Check your Direct X version using the DXDIAG tool


goto your start bar click run and type DXDIAG

click save all information and look in the first part of the .txt file. it will tell you your build.


DX10 is backwards compatable with DX9.


alot of DX errors (dont know about this game specificly) are from either a lack of chipset drivers or incorrect video driver installation.(ex. Geforce 4 drivers on a Geforce 8 )
