Oh well since NDA is lifted my opinion is "Omg the crapness". I liked only few effects and the trees :P

The rest is quite ugly. The "3d" client was better :P

I REALLY don't understand why EA would spend so much effort in creating a client like KR, while what they should have done is grab the UO2/UXO resources and put together a real 3D client.

thats true.

they also grab much ressources (shaders/soundsystem/aso.) from Warhammer Online ;-). You can see it, they forgot to remove the gui from warhammer in the uop files. *lol

That will be a smart move, so not a EA typical move :P

AND I also think EA is going in the wrong direction with UO - this game remains one of the top (if not the best) MMORPG because of its richness in content. Being able to interact with the world as it should be - things like mining, farming, crafting, houses, milking a cow, etc. makes this game great. I personally find the KR client laggy and hard to use.

I think Lord British had it right before: creating an open world with no restrictions, and let the players rule themselves. Unfortunately EA has been in constant violation of this rule: ever since they published Trammel/Felucca, UO has gone into the wrong direction.

To me, KR is one step forward towards this wrong direction. It seems like they've got a team who doesn't understand what Ultima is, and has absolutely no appreciation of the game. What a pity.

- end of bashing

although it would be nice to grab the KR resources and use them to our advantages :D

UOKR feels pretty decent but it lacks so much on some areas, like the GUI. The tiles and world graphics, from what i can tell from screenshots, are pretty damn nice.
