we can load ogre.mesh models format, and there are exporters for all big modelling programs, blender,3dsmax,maya,wings3d...
so you should be able to export your models.

the tricky thing is getting the animations to run, you'll probably have to adjust a few things in the lua code, but it should be possible without recompiling.

As Ghouly said, Iris2 is able to load Ogre meshes + skeletons. Only some scripting (lua) changes are needed to get them work instead of Grannys.

I think we should put this task on our todo. But i think we don't add another custom format like md3. You will have to convert them by yourself or create a completly new Model. You can get exporters for every 3D Tool from the Ogre3d website.
