Mh. You have Vista. We haven't tested Iris2 on Vista yet.

It seems that our 3D Engine cant handle with DirectX 10.

I found something (maybe search here also):
http://www.ogre3d.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=35117

Try to install DirectX 9 on Vista. You can have both installed.

If this doesn't work, try to use the OpenGL Renderer (delete the Ogre.cfg from iris2\bin\ directory and start again and select OpenGL) for now.

please do not copy/install iris inside the ultima directory.
iris should detect where the uo data is automatically,
or you can add the data/config.lua to adjust the filepath

Do you installed the newest DirectX ?

you can download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en

You error message tells us, that Ogre cant initialize DirectX.

????

thats correct and thats what ghouly said.

But he said, that Iris detects the UO directory automatically, if you have installed UO correct. Thats because Iris needs a standard UO installation.

But thats not your problem. Your problem is, that Iris can't find your DirectX!

Iris works on Vista, as stated above (I use it on Vista 64bit).

To get it to work with DirectX, download the latest DirectX 9 update from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/directx)

This actually fixes a number of older DirectX 9 games, and is a required install for a number of newer ones (They include it on the CD/DVD)
