After updating my Gfx Driver (see Ticket 201) Iris is working again using OpenGL. But now im running into Performance issues. Even the mousepointer in the menu (where you select the shard) is quite "laggy". Any ideas how to fix that ? |

System informationare needed to answer . -Graphiccard ? -OS ? -other system informations -config.lua settings If you use linux+opengl maybe you opengl driver doesn't work correct with graphiccard acceleration. We also turned on the shadows. Maybe you try to disable them. Put this in you config. gShadowTechnique = "none" |

So it can't be too bad *g* Are you using Shadows in the "Title" Screen? Because the cursor is slow as hell too |

Ahm no shadow in the Titelscreen. But currently we use a Software Cursor and this is maybe the problem. We should really think of an real HardwareCursor. I take a look into it. Nice that updating the gfx-driver works now. Here is the Ticket number for other User: http://zwischenwelt.org/trac/iris/ticket/201 How well does Iris2 run on your laptop? You should try the following options: Code: gFastBatchStatics = true
gFastBatchDynamics = true gAtlasRes = "low" gUseDistanceFog = false gEnableMultiTexTerrain = true gDisableMultiTexTerrainTransitions = true gShadowTechnique = "none" gStaticsCastShadows = false gDynamicsCastShadows = false gMobileCastShadows = false gEnableGrannyMaterials = true gSightRange = 2 gParticleEffectSystem = true gLightsources = false gGroundBlockLoaderType = "OnDemand" |

ok i will try that. First i need to fix it on my other Laptop (The IBM with Radeon 7500 Mobility Card). Before i did the update i had ~30 fps on the Dell Laptop. The Cursor was quite fast too. So its either the new Gfx Card driver or the changes that have been made to iris recently... |
