Post subject:  Installing UO-Iris2

Hello guys, im very interested in this project and how fast it grow up, I have years involved in this enviroment of uo and I have never seen something like this. Im very impressed with iris2, really, well done.

Years ago I started an UO shard with a vision, and I was trying to modify some of the 2d old game graphics turning them into a more 3d looking to do something different, it was something simple, just replacing some of them, not as big like iris2, but was cool also, I had to stop that work years ago for some reasons not related with the game, not losing the hope of coming back someday.
Now I have the chance to come back and I can spend more time to this, so i will do it for sure using your Iris2, Seriously I think it have a lot of potential and it's or it will be the new generation of UO, so I want to help with this project as much I can cuz i dont want to be out of this :P, and btw finish some old projects too.

I have a question about how to get into Iris2
I got the 2D AOS version of UO and I have installed the Iris2 too, when i open the Iris client i get an error message window saying that "Iris2 could not find character models in your uo dir"...
may I install the 3D AOS, or get UO:ML to fix that? or any idea?

Thanks for your time
and sorry for my poor english btw

True, Now I solved my problem, sorry and thx for the info.
I tested the game using the offline mode, and it looks pretty cool :D

I was looking for a topic related to the emulator's versions that support iris, but didnt found one, Im trying to run Iris2 on my shard, but i have an old version of sphere, the V0.55i, and im getting an error when i try to log in using the localhost, something wrong with the lugre_fifo ( \Iris2 - UO Client\lugre\include\lugre_fifo.h, so i cant get in

Any emu version recommended to run an iris server? like 56b of sphere or an specific sphere/runuo version?

Thanks

we test on a runuo1 shard most of the time.
Sience is the expert regarding emus, but i think it should work with sphere as well, please provide error details.

EDIT : just found something in our FAQ :
http://www.iris2.de/index.php/FAQ#Iris2 ... .27s_up.3F
iris doesn't support encryption, so the server has to accept unencrypted clients, or you can't play using iris.

Trying to connect: (everything normal I guess)
Connecting to shard 'localhost' on localhost:2593
Connecting to server M.K - TestSrv. [0]

And then, after some secs I get the error message below:

So I will try using the last version of sphere to see if thats the real problem

and is there a way to drop that encryption? or any emu version comes without that?
I don't know too much about it

As far as i know some newer sphere emus support to drop the encryption via config.ini .

Most other Server emulators as RunUO 1, RunUO 2, Lonewolf, wolfpack and Pol don't have encryption support.

now again a link to our wiki :-)
