I create a mockup for a new clean Frontpage for Iris2.

-This is just a Position Mockup
-This frontpage should be Standalone. No CMS.
-It should display the latest two Blog entries.
-Screenshots should be displayed at random form our Screenshot gallery.
-Newest Stable Download version. One Click Download.
-Design is far from Final
-just to check, what informations should be on the very first page, what Links do we need aso.

Suggestions and comments are welcome.

the style of the top buttons like screenshots/download/forum does not fit to the rest of the page (too round and non flat in contrast to the flat style of the rest). although i would not use rounded corners.
should the download button point to the windows download only?
if so we should add some version and os informations like the download button at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ .

As i said, this was only a mockup for : what buttons do we need & what do we need to add.

The graphical style was not my point.

If we are able to build a MacOSX container and a Linux RPM/DEB we can make them downloadable too.

The Thunderbird page is good. Same Blender.
I also like the version and os informations on the download button.

yep, too round =)
mondains legacy download links would have to be integrated too, and link to installguide.

please don't let me explain it twice. forget the round corners. forget the green colors. forget everything but the positions of boxes/buttons and the functionalitys.

I was also thinking about this. Maybe we can offer windows users a download link with our installer. I have to check this.

Maybe we place the Install Guide Link near the right lower corner !?

i made a mac package but at the moment i didn't get feedback if it works.
yes uo ml download would be important.
perhaps in linux we should link to the wiki build from source page until somebody creates a package.

did you change the embedded config files?
yes the log files and exact error would be nice.
try to start it from the command line to get more error messages.
