hmm this is starting to look really good =)

can you remove those big shadows ?
the texture should be as repeatable as possible so big patterns like that will look bad at a distance where the texture is repeatet several times.

if you can make it tilable that would be really cool, but i can also try to do that if you don't have experience with it.

you can download the installer. after installation you will find all iris textures in the directory data/models/textures/. getting the data via svn ist also possible: http://iris.schattenkind.net/svn/trunk/data/

oh no in linux ists totally easy :)
just install subversion (ie. apt-get install subversion in debian based systems) and execute
Code:
svn co http://iris.schattenkind.net/svn/trunk iris

to get the current development version

i just tried the command line and it works. probably there where too many connections (the updater also uses this svn).
if the checkout didnt work, please pm me the command you tried and the error message.
the size and aspect ratio depends on the texture. ie. most wall textures have 64x128 at the moment, so you could make them 256x512 or something like this.

animated textures are stored as a series of images. for more details about what ogre can do with textures and materieals see

i think making lots of high-res textures for water animation is not neccessary, we want to use a pixelshader for water later.
but one single highres water texture would be good as fallback for graphic cards without shader support, it doesn't need to be animated though =)
thank you for your help !

hmm looks really nice =)

do you agree to make the art you create for iris2 publicly available under the creative commons license
"Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0" ?
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/

i would prefer that or a similar creative commons license so derivate projects are possible, but if you have other suggestions, please say so =)

Iris is open source then everything what I create will be the same i think that "Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0" license is ok. I'm starting to work.
