we got a few reports of people getting the directx dll error at startup even if they used the updater, sience : any idea what's causing this and how it can be solved ? |

We wrote this several times on our site: "for WindowsXP/Vista you may also need" Update your DirectX9 Runtime  here you go: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=04AC064B-00D1-474E-B7B1-442D8712D553&displaylang=en another chance is to switch to "unstable" with our Updater and Update. |

Hmm, the link you posted here is august2009, our main.lua still suggested the november2008 version for download, i updated it, maybe that was the problem. As far as i understood the problem occurred even after downloading the version suggested by iris when encountering the error. |

Mh yes. Our Mainpage & our Download Page suggests "august2009" update. It's a pain to check this dependency for every release, because Steve changes this with every Ogre release  . But i committed the newest Direct3d dll in our Iris2/bin directory. So this problem would not occour even if someone has an old DirectX runtime.But the current release is not up2date, so we should create a new release today. |
