But really strange that only OpenGL work for you. Try to install the newest DirectX Runtime again.

here you go:

in the latest/unstable version i added a dialog to choose between directx and opengl at startup if a crash is detected in case other people have the same problem. (only helps if the crash happens during render-system init)

hi =) please update to the latest unstable and try again, i just committed something that should detect the crash and ask you if you want to start in opengl at the next startup, if this is the same problem, then starting with opengl should solve it.

@sience : i think it is either the new ogre version or the directx dll in the iris dir that is causing this, i'd suggest we revert both to the old state, what do you think ?

I dont think so. Th enew Ogre requires to install the new DirectX Runtime. If people do not install this and only use our updater, this couses crashes.

Maybe we need an info or button in our Updater to request people to install a DirectX Runtime.

What is the new one?

1.
:: Tue Nov 24 14:54:35 2009

LuaError
error running function `Main': ../lua/lib.3d.mousepick.lua:206: attempt to compare nil with number

or

2.
:: Tue Nov 24 14:54:42 2009

?

Or does 1. occur and followed by 2.?

Quote:
error running function `Main': ../lua/lib.3d.mousepick.lua:206: attempt to compare nil with number

This is a real Bug. Nothign todo with DirectX.

What do you do, when this Error occours?

It seems, that you click on a wrong Dynamic Item in your World.

I made an emergency update, then a new update.
Now, with 2D I can log in.. but before I tryed to log on with 3D client, but it made me crash.
Now I'm on with 2D and it's working.
What do you think?
edit: 3D is working too :)

Post subject:  Re: Problem starting up Iris2

did you customize something to override the default multi-start-value ?
lua/lib.uoids.lua:29:gMulti_ID = hex2num("0x4000")

i added a check at the 3d mousepick, if you update to unstable again, you should get a better error message, please post it here.
