Would it be possible to port iris to android since android is Linux based? |

Android is java based. So you first would need to port Ogre to java (perhaps there is a working java version, I'm not sure). But I think the current version of iris2 is to resource hungry therefore it's barely possible to run on a mobile phone. |

i'll second the too resource hungry, until phones have 2gb of ram there wouldnt be much point |

A 3D version would be much much harder (simply due to all the models and whatnot: Even my Vibrant only has 32GB of storage total). A 2D version might be possible, especially since 2.2 and 2.3 make heavier use of OpenGL ES. Still.... Current Androids are only 1Ghz single-core machines.... Having some sort of JIT converter or even a direct Java port would probably tax the hell out of the unit. Next year's dual core, terga-based machines could probably handle it, though. |

There is already an OpenGL ES port of Ogre for iPhone. |
