Nice. :)

From the screenshots, i think Archlord is the best looking gui.

PS. Didnt know Mythos or ArchLord, always like to see some nice inspirational games. :)

I really liked the second one you posted, i just think the wood can look boring after a time, except if it's REALLY well done.

I liked the small icons from Archlord, i just think the way they were done they are small and distinctive, but don't make for more space at all.

I would suggest of course that the gui be dockable and customizable. It should be able to include functionalities from the UO macros (like last target and etc).

NWN2 has a lot of gui mod you can look for inspiration, there are quite a few styles.

For your tests, I added an hotbar example to Iris2.

CTRL+B - toggles the Hotbar

Material + Texture (hotbar gfx) are under: \data\base\hotbar\

Thought i'd give a ui mock up a shot..

of course the menu in the upper left hand corner wouldn't be displayed unless you clicked on the button.

anyway i'm not much of an artists but maybe it will give someone that is an inspiration.

Hey! I believe that if new GUI follow the minimap stile will be very nice!

Anybody know who is the minimap artist? He may do a tutorial about how to do pictures like this minimap.

Cya!

Panos created the Minimap as far as i remember.

He said he will do a whole Iconsset for Iris2.

Gor wants todo the GUI style.

@Demondread : The Idea with up/down buttons on the Hotbar is good. I'd really like to have one moveable chat with few TABs. The Menu button in the upper left corner should be a special button at the right side of the Hotbar.

The Button Worldmap is good! We also thought of a big Map with most important Infos.

Yeah like I said not much of an artist :) I just thought maybe throwing that up there would give gor some ideas..

As far as a moveable chat with a few TABs, I agree that those are nice, but i also like the ability to open multiple chats that can have filters applied to them. That way if you wanna watch the system messages and chat messages at the same without cluttering the same window you can. I don't think it would be too hard to include both options. You could just instance the chat window. The filter settings wouldn't necessarily have to differ between windows, but definitely between tabs.

World maps are nice :)One my favorite features to do with world maps is having the ability to add your own custom marks and labels, always useful.

Mh yes. But someone has to work it out. So basically we (ghouly, hagish and i) have more critical things to implement/fix.

The would be, if someone takes the lead of the new Gui and if all is fix and graphics are done, we can implement it.

Demondread showed up some ideas - and I'll integrate some of them. ;) I'll do some stuff today. (I've been playing Crysis yesterday all nite long ;) )

Demondread, if you want I can share my PSD file.

Sience and I want a look which is very subtile and a mixture of old iron and semi-transarent blind glass.
