I remember I think Goulsblade said something about the possibility for the Third Dawn human figures to be put back in.
My thought was always that when the Third Dawn models were replaced with the newer ones it was a huge cartoonish downgrade, for me anyway, I always felt the TD ones were much more realistic and pleasing to the eye.
Is there any possibility of this happening, or way that I could do it myself, I still have the origonal TD cd.

what's the difference between the third dawn models and the mondains legacy models ?
could you post a screenshot maybe ?

iris doesn't specifically need the mondains-legacy models i think, have you tried using iris with a third dawn installation ? if there are errors, maybe we can help fix them =)

The Third Dawn Models are sightly different from the AOS Models. They use a a pre Granny v1 format and as long as i know the player model is build as one part model as all monsters.

I know if even I install with original third dawn cd I still have to patch up, and the patch always overwrites the player models with ML player models.
I still have to patch up all the way to the latest EA client to use Iris2 don't I?
Could it be as simple as replacing the player model files manually in the installation folder of my UO 3d client with the models from my UO:TD cd?
Ok just tried that, found the game runs fine, at same frame rate also, but the human models don't appear. I copied the "human.lst" over as well, still didn't appear, but thats ok, I'm sure it could be done if we really wanted to, but anywho, it was just a suggestion because IMO the third dawn models were tons better to the eye.

One last question, how do I switch Iris2 over to 2d mode and back, I can't find an option anywhere and have looked for an answer to this question on the forums thanks.

* ctrl+r so switch render mode
* put gCurrentRenderer = Renderer2D in your config dir
* start with -2d

I remember that old iris works with third down version. I think that works better that with newer versions.

Here's 5 pages of screenshots. Just look at the quality difference between third dawn and mondains legacy 3d client. To be honest I am verry Peed at EA ever since they downgraded the graphics like that, I mean look at the screens in TD, they blow me away every time I look at them and compare them to UO: ML, ML is a sick sick joke of some sort, anyway, if you agree with me, I mean EA has moved on to the suposedly 3d Kingdom reborn now, and couln't give a dam about ML 3d, so I think you guys should revert back to the origional Third dawn 3d models, looking at it again now, not just humans but monsters and animals as well also look far far better in TD. I don't think it would be hard to do.

Sorry but i don't see any difference. My thought was, that they only changed the human mesh model to different human part models.

the models look very similar to mee, can't really tell the difference to the monsters.
3rd dawn demon model : Image

mondains-legacy-demon model ; Image

looks like the same model to me, like most other monster models.

i don't know about clothing, it's hard to compare characters in two clients if they wear different clothing.

i guess if you'd want to convince us that the 3rd dawn models are worth the effort of fixing the model loader to load them too, you should give us some side-by-side pictures comparing the same monster/clothes in 3rd dawn and ml of what you mean where it looks better.
